This set consists of an Armenian-style kalimafi and a detachable hood.
Kalimafi a.k.a. kalymavchion / kamilavka/ kameloukion/kamelaukion is a stiff hat, cylindrical with a conical brim and a cloth-covered button at the top (Armenian style).
Veghar - the pointed conic cowl worn by the celibate clergy of the Armenian Apostolic Church, including abeghas, bishops and the catholicos. Married and celibate priests serve in the Armenian Church. The latter, called Abegha (monk priest), wear a black hood-shaped hat, called Weghar, that symbolizes the rule of the Church in relation to them. After the priest has taken his public vow, the celibate priest is awarded the black, tapered headgear (Armenian: Veghar or Weghar) as a sign of his celibacy in a special ceremony.
CLEANING AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS >>>
Wash the hood at low temperatures, using weak detergents. DO NOT BLEACH. Dry in an aired space inside out, and not exposed to direct sunlight (black dye fades). Ironing: Use low temperature and iron the clothing inside out.
